ROCKFORD – Chicago Rockford International Airport will hold a large-scale emergency drill on Friday, April 25, simulating a passenger airline crash. The exercise, which runs from 9 a.m. to noon and is not open to the public, involves multiple fire departments from surrounding communities, including Stillman, Cherry Valley, Rockford, Boone 2, New Milford, Blackhawk, Rockton and North Park. Volunteers will act as injured passengers with a range of simulated injuries. The drill, required every three years by the FAA, is designed to test emergency response coordination and identify areas for improvement among partner agencies.
