CHANA — The Rock River Valley Blood Center will host a community blood drive Wednesday, May 27th, at Chana United Methodist Church, 606 North Main Street in Chana, from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. The center said it supplies the full blood needs for 14 area hospitals and depends on regular donor participation to meet weekly demand. Donors are asked to bring a photo ID. Maggie Anderson, donor recruiter with the Rock River Valley Blood Center, said summer can be a difficult time to maintain blood supplies because travel increases and donations often slow. She said hospital demand continues even when donations drop.
Anderson said, “We depend on community donors to make sure hospitals have what they need, especially during the summer months. Every donation helps save lives across our region.”
