Rochelle to Demolish House for Fire Department Parking Lot

ROCHELLE – The City of Rochelle will begin demolishing the house at 503 North Main Street today, to make way for a parking lot for the Fire Department. Periodic lane closures along North Main Street will occur as utility services are disconnected. The property was purchased for $65,000, plus closing costs, and the demolition is part of a project funded by the Downtown & Southern Gateway Tax Increment Financing (TIF) district. The house will be used for firefighter training before it is fully demolished.
