Rochelle Honors Public Safety Dispatchers During National Recognition Week

ROCHELLE — Mayor John Bearrows has declared this week as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week in Rochelle to recognize the essential role of dispatchers in emergency response. Public safety telecommunicators serve as the first point of contact during emergencies, providing critical information to police, fire, and medical personnel. 

“Whereas public safety dispatchers of the Rochelle Police Department have contributed substantially to the apprehension of criminals, suppression of fires and treatment of patients, whereas each dispatcher has exhibited,” Bearrows proclaimed, “Compassion, understanding and professionalism during the performance of their job over this past year.”
