ROCHELLE – The Rochelle Fire Department will host its annual Fireman’s Ball on April 5th from 7 p.m. to midnight at the Flight Deck. The event, organized by the department’s social organization, raises funds for community engagement projects, including scholarships for local students, support for Little League teams, and firefighter assistance. The evening will feature 90s country music by Backcountry Roads, a photo booth, raffles, silent auctions, and more. Lt. Tyler Carls of the Rochelle Fire Department said that this is also a great way to stay in touch with residents.
“If you’re having a medical emergency or fire, that’s the interaction they have with us,” he said. “And we like to have more of a positive interaction at this community event where we can sit down and talk. And we really like to talk about what we do at the fire department and kind of the opportunities and maybe grab the attention of a young community member that we may be able to get to join the fire department. So this is kind of that opportunity to do that.”
Tickets and additional details are available through the Rochelle Fire Department Social Organization Facebook page or by contacting the fire station.
