ROCHELLE – The City of Rochelle’s Finance Department has received the Government Finance Officers Association’s (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the 10th consecutive year. The award is the highest recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting. The city’s financial report was evaluated by an impartial panel and met the program’s rigorous standards, including transparency and clear communication of financial data. Mayor John Bearrows said it was a fantastic achievement.
“To me, it sends a kind of a tone of comfort level for people to know that your funds are getting handled properly and transparency there. I think that’s ultra important,” he said.
The achievement reflects the work of Finance Director Chris Cardott, along with team members Jessica Rogers and Mark Boehm.
