Rochelle District 231 Approves School Bus Transportation Contract

ROCHELLE – The Rochelle Elementary District 231 Board of Education approved a specialized student transportation services contract during its Tuesday night meeting at Lincoln Elementary School. The contract was awarded to Illinois Central School Bus, the district’s current provider, after only one bid was received last month. The agreement includes an alternate bid and a student tracking option for fiscal years 2027 through 2031. The contract follows state law requiring a new bidding cycle every 10 years for third party carriers. It covers transportation for preschool and middle school routes the district cannot provide and includes a one year agreement with four additional priced years for a total five year commitment with the option to extend up to 10 years.
