Rochelle Council Updates Electric Reserve Fund Policy

ROCHELLE — The Rochelle City Council approved changes to the city’s Electric Operations Loss Reserve Fund Policy to set aside funds for equipment breakdowns involving power generating assets that are not covered by the city’s current insurance carrier. The amended policy keeps $1 million in reserve for possible equipment failures. City officials said the amount is supported by the city’s past claims history and will help cover costs tied to major equipment repairs or replacements.
