ROCHELLE — The Rochelle City Council approved an $881,517 insurance renewal agreement Monday night with the Illinois Municipal League Risk Management Association for the 2026 to 2027 fiscal year. The premium is $4,170 higher than last year, a 0.48% increase after discounts for paying in full by Nov. 13. The agreement includes a minimum loss reserve of $320,547 and is intended to help control costs and give the city more control over claims management as it moves toward a self insured retention plan. The city is also seeking separate cyber liability coverage, with quotes expected by Oct. 30.
