Roberts Armory WWII Museum Opens During Lincoln Highway Heritage Festival

ROCHELLE — The Roberts Armory WWII Museum will be open to the public during the Lincoln Highway Heritage Festival on Aug. 15 from 1 to 4 p.m. The museum’s Higgins Boat will be available for viewing, weather permitting. Visitors can follow signs on the Army truck at Route 251 and Intermodal Drive to reach the museum, located about three miles away. The museum features World War II artifacts including tanks, trucks, cannons and Rochelle News Leader newspapers from 1945 with photos of local residents who served during the war. There is no admission charge. The museum’s next scheduled opening will be Nov. 8, 2026.
