Radon Testing Can Save Lives

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Emergency Management Agency is encouraging testing during Radon Action Month. Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. Radon test kits can be purchased by calling the Illinois Radon Hotline or at most hardware and department stores. It is recommended to conduct one short-term test and one long-term test to ensure consistent readings.
