Polo to Consider Updates to Proposed Residential Parking Rules

POLO — The City of Polo is considering updated rules that would limit parking of certain vehicles in residential areas. The proposal would restrict vehicles such as all terrain vehicles, farm tractors, motor homes, recreational vehicles and trailers, semitrailers, tow trucks, truck tractors and utility trailers from parking on residential streets or alleys for more than 60 minutes per day, while allowing temporary parking for construction or service work. Front yard parking would be limited to regular driveways without blocking sidewalks, and engines of farm tractors, truck tractors and semitrailers would be limited to 30 minutes per day running in residential areas. The new rules hope to limit trailers from being used as long term street parking. The city is expected to refine the language at an upcoming meeting.
