Polo Christmas Festival Hosting Food Drive To Support Local Families

POLO — The Polo Christmas Festival and Polo Chamber of Commerce are holding the Santa’s Helpers Food Drive through Nov. 29 at the Polo Public Library to collect nonperishable food items for local families in need this holiday season. Items being collected include canned vegetables, canned fruit, soups, stews, peanut butter, pasta and pasta sauce, cereal, and other staple goods. Children who donate items can earn entries into a drawing to ride with Santa and Mrs. Claus in the festival’s Lighted Parade on Dec. 6 at 6:45 p.m., with the winner and up to two guests participating. The winner will be contacted Dec. 1. Organizers say the food drive is a way to give back to the community while engaging families and encouraging participation in the festival, which will celebrate its seventh year in 2025. All donations will go directly to support local families ahead of the holiday season.
