The Pirates pulled off a 2-1 victory over the Cubs to open their series in Pittsburgh. Wilber Dotel was credited with the win after striking out four over three scoreless innings. Henry Davis drove in the go-ahead run with a solo homer in the bottom of the seventh. Pittsburgh has now won back to back games.
Michael Busch drove in the only run for the Cubs with a solo shot.
Chicago’s losing streak is up to nine games, 13 out of their last 15.
Game 2 in the series is Tuesday night in Piitsburgh.
