Person Critically Wounded In Officer Involved Shooting In Loves Park

LOVES PARK –  One person is seriously wounded following an officer-involved shooting in Loves Park.  Police say officers responded to a home Wednesday night in the 500 block of River Lane on a report of a domestic disturbance involving an armed person.  Officers learned that a male had walked away from the home while armed with a rifle.  Officers located the suspect holding a long gun rifle and threatening to harm himself.  He pointed the rifle at the officers, who opened fire.  The suspect was hit and taken to the hospital in critical condition.
