ROCKFORD – Two parents are charged in the death of their teenage son last year in Rockford. Police say officers responded December 14th to a home in the 14-hundred block of 4th Avenue in response to a 16-year-old boy who had overdosed on drugs. The teen was sent to the hospital, where he died. Following an investigation, Chad Chavez and Ana Benavides were charged with Endangering the Life of a Child Resulting in Death. Both were taken to the county jail.
