OREGON – At the Oregon City Council meeting this week an Oregon Police Officer was praised for his actions during a traffic stop that ultimately took drugs off the streets. Patrol Officer Zach McKean stopped a vehicle last Sunday in the 1200 block of W. Washington Street, when after a brief investigation, he reportedly discovered a number of purported illegal drugs. Oregon Mayor Ken Williams praised his actions.
“Officer McKeon, the result of your actions will have a long-lasting impact, not just to Oregon, but to the region as well. Your exceptional work on March 23rd has exemplified the core values of the Oregon Police Department and has made a meaningful difference in our efforts to combat the ongoing drug crisis.”

Charged with multiple drug related offences were a 31-year-old Clinton, Iowa woman and a 45-year-old Rock Falls woman.
