Oregon Man Charged With Child Sexual Abuse Material Offenses

OREGON  — A 35-year-old Oregon man has been charged with possessing and disseminating child sexual abuse material following a search of his home Tuesday. Attorney General Kwame Raoul’s office charged Colton Murphy with four counts of disseminating child sexual abuse material, each a Class X felony punishable by up to 30 years in prison, and one count of possessing child sexual abuse material, a Class 2 felony punishable by up to seven years in prison. Murphy is currently being held at the Ogle County Jail. Investigators with Raoul’s office and the Oregon Police Department searched Murphy’s home in the 200 block of North Sixth Street, with assistance from Illinois State Police and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Murphy was arrested after investigators found evidence of alleged child sexual abuse material, according to the attorney general’s office.
