OREGON — The City of Oregon is considering reducing downtown landscaping costs while improving aesthetics and expanding its tourism marketing efforts in 2026. The city has proposed taking over planting, maintenance, and watering of welcome sign beds, replacing high-maintenance ground plants with planters, and hopes to cut watering costs in half, keeping total downtown beautification expenses around $61,100. In addition, the city will continue the All Trails Lead to Oregon campaign, focusing on year-round marketing, expanded social media reach, influencer partnerships, videos, Google ads, and email newsletters. The 2026 marketing budget totals $126,000, covering project management, website maintenance, advertising, photography, and video production. The initiatives are funded through the Economic Development Fund, supported by gaming, franchise, and internet sales tax revenue.
