Oregon City Council Approves New Leaf Vac

OREGON — The Oregon City Council has approved a plan to finance the purchase of a new leaf vac to launch the city’s leaf collection services. The council reviewed bids from local banks and will leave those specifics for later date. The leaf vac is expected to save labor time, reduce wear on other equipment, and improve service. The total cost of the leaf vac will be under $170,000 after financing. They noted that it could be as much as 18-months before the ride-on trailer unit is built, and until that time, they would be provided a rental unit at a heavily discounted rate. Last fall the city tested out a leaf pickup program, and the feedback from residents was positive.
