Oregon City Council Approves Long-Term Energy Contracts and Police Salary Agreement

OREGON — The Oregon City Council on Tuesday night approved updated energy supply contracts for city street lighting and pumping services, selecting a five-year contract with Constellation at a rate of $0.04041 per kilowatt hour for street lighting and a four-year contract with Direct Energy at $0.05950 per kilowatt hour for the city’s pumping station. Both contracts lock in rates amid rising energy demands. The council also approved salary scales for the Fraternal Order of Police for 2025 and 2026, authorizing the city manager to sign the agreement, which finalizes the last two years of the current labor deal.
