Oregon Church of God to Host Blood Drive on February 18 as Part of Urgent Effort to Replenish Blood Supply

OREGON — The Rock River Valley Blood Center (RRVBC) will hold a blood drive at the Oregon Church of God tomorrow from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The event aims to address the ongoing shortage of O-negative blood and platelets, which are critical for treating patients in local hospitals.

Maggie Anderson, Donor Recruiter with the Rock River Valley Blood Center, said all donations are important, but O-negative donors are the most important.

“O-negative blood and platelet donations are especially important in times of shortage, as they are required for complex medical treatments and emergency surgeries,” she said.

All eligible blood donors are encouraged to attend and contribute to replenishing these vital supplies. First-time donors should bring a photo ID, and appointments are recommended but walk-ins are welcome. For further information or to schedule an appointment, contact RRVBC at 815-965-8751.
