BYRON — A 30 year old Olney man was cited following a two vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of North Meridian Road and Illinois Route 2 north of Byron. The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office said deputies, along with Byron and Oregon fire and EMS personnel, responded to the crash around 1:40 p.m. Investigators said the Olney man was traveling southbound on Route 2 and allegedly attempted a U turn when his vehicle was struck by a southbound vehicle driven by a 22 year old Stillman Valley woman. The woman was transported to OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford with serious but non life threatening injuries. The Olney man was not injured. He was cited for improper U turn and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
