Ogle County Trails to Be Mapped for Google Street View as Part of Regional Project

OREGON – A new project launched this month will digitally map 178 miles of trails across Winnebago, Boone, and Ogle counties using technology similar to Google Street View. The effort, part of the “State of the Trails” project, began May 7th and is expected to finish in September. In Ogle County, shared-use paths will be mapped by a bicycle equipped with a 360-degree camera to assess pavement conditions and provide updated visuals online. The project is supported by a $150,000 grant and is intended to help improve trail maintenance and accessibility across the region.
