Ogle County Sheriff Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 251 and Maple Ave Friday afternoon. An initial investigation determined a vehicle driven by 31 year old Mario Castro of Rochelle was traveling northbound before beginning to turn onto Maple Avenue. A vehicle driven by 36 year old Quinton Horton of Rockford struck the Castro vehicle on the driver’s side. Both vehicles came to rest off of the northwest side of the roadway. Castro was later transported to the Rochelle Community Hospital with minor injuries. After further investigation, Horton was placed under arrest for Driving While License Revoked. Horton was transported to the Ogle County Jail, where he was released on a Notice to Appear and given a future court date. Ogle County Deputies were assisted by Rochelle EMS.
Ogle County Deputies were dispatched to a disturbance call in the 300 block of East Third Street Leaf River Saturday afternoon. After an initial investigation 18 year old Wesley Lane of Dixon was placed under arrest for Possession of a Firearm Without a FOID Card. Lane was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released on a notice to appear bond. A 15 year old juvenile male from Leaf River was taken into custody for Unlawful Possession of a Handgun by a Minor, Possession of a Firearm Without a FOID Card, Possession of Ammunition Without a FOID Card, Trespassing, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. The juvenile was transported to the Kane County Juvenile Detention Center.
Ogle County Deputies initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Pines Road and Devils Backbone Road Friday morning. After an investigation 45 year old Debra Messenger of Oregon was arrested for an outstanding Ogle County warrant. A passenger in the vehicle, 36 year old Jeramiah Martin of Oregon was arrested for an outstanding Winnebago County warrant. Both Messenger and Martin were transported to the Ogle County Jail where they were held in lieu of bond.
