Ogle County Board Approves New Door-to-Door Solicitation Ordinance

OREGON – The Ogle County Board passed an ordinance on Tuesday night to regulate door-to-door solicitations in unincorporated areas of the county. The ordinance requires solicitors to register with the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office and sets rules such as soliciting only between 11 AM and 7 PM.  It also mandates that solicitors respect “No Soliciting” signs and immediately leave properties when requested by residents. The ordinance includes penalties for violations, ranging from fines of $250 to $750 depending on the number of offenses.
