OREGON — Ogle County has signed a 22-month electricity supply contract with MC Squared Energy Services (mc2) for residents and small businesses in unincorporated areas, excluding townships with separate programs. The new rate of $0.0895 per kilowatt-hour replaces the expiring Dynegy contract, which had a rate of $0.06567. ComEd’s upcoming residential rate is $0.0957 per kilowatt-hour. Customers will receive opt-out notices from mc2 and ComEd before the July switch. The rate increase follows a rise in PJM capacity costs, a regulated component of energy prices affecting all ratepayers.
