O’Connell’s RV Campground Evacuated Due To Rising Water

AMBOY – O’Connell’s RV Campground, formerly Yogi Bear Campground, in Amboy is being fully evacuated due to rising water levels. The Lee County Emergency Management Agency said just after 9 a.m. Sunday that everyone at the campground, located at 970 Green Wing Road, was asked to evacuate immediately. Anyone still on the grounds should go to the general store and will be evacuated from there. Officials said no one will be allowed to drive out of the campground because the entrance is completely flooded. Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputies are on scene to assist with the evacuation.
