Officials at NIU in DeKalb have called a press conference for today as the school plans to join the Horizon League for non-football sports programs.
Last January, NIU announced that it would leave the Mid-American Conference for football and join the Mountain West Conference in 2026.
The Horizon League currently has Cleveland State, Detroit, Wisconsin-Green Bay, Indiana University in Indianapolis, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Northern Kentucky, Oakland, Purdue Fort Wayne, Robert Morris, Wright State, and Youngstown State.
