DEKALB — Northern Illinois University confirmed Thursday that five of its international students had their visas revoked, part of a broader federal crackdown affecting campuses nationwide. The university is working with the affected students but did not release their names. The move follows recent actions by the Trump administration, which has revoked hundreds of international student visas across the country for alleged violations of visa rules. Illinois, home to more than 55,000 international students, ranks fifth in the nation for international student enrollment.
