DEKALB — A Michigan man was arrested Wednesday morning after a traffic stop on I-88 in DeKalb County led to the alleged discovery of a loaded handgun and illegal drugs. Deputies with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle near mile marker 90 eastbound at 7:52 a.m. and found the driver, identified as 41-year-old Jeffrey J. Peterson of Grand Junction, Michigan, reportedly had a revoked driver’s license. During the stop, deputies say they also found Psilocybin Mushrooms and a loaded firearm. Peterson was taken to the DeKalb County Jail and faces charges including unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and driving while license revoked.
