McHenry Co. Man Convicted of Murdering Belvidere Man, Two Sons

BELVIDERE —  A Boone County jury is convicting a McHenry County man of killing a Belvidere man and his two young sons in their home in 2021.  Alize Smith of Huntley was found guilty of first-degree murder in the deaths of Andrew Hintt and his seven and five-years old sons.  All three were found shot to death inside a home in the 600 block of Union Avenue in December 2021.  Prosecutors say Smith and Hintt sold marijuana and Smith owed the other 10 thousand dollars at the time of the killings.  Smith faces mandatory life in prison when he is sentenced next month.
