March is Problem Gambling Awareness Month

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Human Services has recognized March as Problem Gambling Awareness Month. Support is available through a confidential hotline and text line for those affected by gambling disorders. IDHS’s Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery works to expand outreach and raise awareness about gambling disorders. Studies show four percent of residents have a gambling disorder.  Illinois is now the 4th largest state in terms of total calls, texts, and chats to the 1-800-GAMBLER helpline.
