LASALLE – A man is dead following a police-involved shooting in La Salle on Sunday afternoon. The La Salle Police Department responded to a call about a suicidal person with a gun at 7th and Chartres Street. Upon arriving, officers found the man barricaded inside a building. When he exited the building and pointed a handgun at an officer, an officer fired, fatally wounding him. The incident remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police.
