BYRON — The Byron Area Chamber of Commerce recognized local businesses and a community leader during its annual awards dinner Saturday night. Embrie Salon was named Emerging Business of the Year, Byron Dragway received Business of the Year honors, and Jeff Boyer was awarded Citizen of the Year. Chamber leadership also conducted board business during the event, including the re-election of Amanda Monette with Envoy Mortgage and the addition of new board members Ella Martin of Martin & Company and Tyler Hagermen of Merlin’s Greenhouse and Flowers. Outgoing board member Sean McCannon was recognized for his service. Award presenters highlighted the impact of each recipient, noting Embrie Salon’s rapid growth and Byron Dragway’s continued expansion and local partnerships. Jeff Boyer was specifically lauded for his deep roots in the community and as the Byron Tigers head football coach and led the team to multiple state championships.
