Lee County Reports Fourth of July Traffic Enforcement Results

DIXON – Lee County Sheriff’s Deputies made one impaired driving arrest and issued 19 seat belt citations during the Fourth of July traffic safety campaign held from June 20 to July 7. As part of the statewide effort supported by the Illinois Department of Transportation, deputies conducted 61 traffic stops, resulting in nine speeding citations, nine distracted driving citations, three citations for no valid or suspended driver’s licenses, six other moving violations, and 40 warnings. The campaign focused on removing impaired drivers and promoting seat belt use, with participation from over 200 law enforcement agencies across Illinois.
