SYCAMORE – A juvenile is facing a number of charges after an investigation into two fires and a burglary in Sycamore. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office says that the Sycamore Fire Department was called to a building fire this week in the 1700 block of West State Street, where they allegedly found an aerosol can near the scene. Deputies discovered a vehicle had been reportedly set on fire the previous day, and surveillance footage allegedly showed the same suspect starting a fire near a building that houses both businesses and residences. The suspect also allegedly broke into a laundry room, causing damage to a door. They were arrested and charged with aggravated arson, arson, burglary to a motor vehicle, and criminal damage, and were transported to the River Valley Juvenile Detention Center in Joliet.
