Illinois Tollway Adds 24-Hour Patrols During Heat Wave

DOWNERS GROVE — The Illinois Tollway has launched 24-hour Hot Weather Patrols to help stranded drivers during extreme heat. At least 12 patrol trucks are operating alongside regular Highway Emergency Lane Patrols to respond to breakdowns and *999 calls. The patrols assist with issues like flat tires, overheating, and low fuel. Drivers are advised to stay with their vehicles and use hazard lights. Tollway oases remain open for food, fuel, and rest.
