STERLING – Illinois State Police Troop 1 Captain Joseph Blanchette announced enforcement activity for March, covering Boone, Carroll, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside, and Winnebago counties. Troopers issued over 1,400 citations, made 35 criminal arrests, and investigated more than 80 traffic crashes. Officers conducted nearly 400 commercial vehicle inspections, placing several trucks out of service for safety issues. There were also 34 arrests for driving under the influence, and no fatal crashes were reported in the area.
