SPRINGFIELD — Two measures to support Illinois veterans have been unanimously approved by the Illinois Senate and are now heading to the House. Senate Bill 32 would make households with one or more veterans eligible for food assistance if they meet certain income requirements. Senate Bill 220 would allow Illinois veterans up to eight hours off per month, or 40 hours a year, to participate in military funeral honors details. Both bills now await action in the House.
