CHICAGO — Illinois is still a great place to shoot a movie. Governor Pritzker announced last month that film production expenditures in 2024 reached 653-million-dollars. That is the second-highest expenditure total in state history. Officials believe the high expenditures demonstrate Illinois’ ability to bounce back following strikes that halted production in 2023. They credit the state’s competitive film tax credit and training program for continuing to attract award-winning productions to the state.
