CHICAGO — The State of Illinois has recognized May as Mental Health Awareness Month, promoting access to mental health resources including the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline and the BEACON Children’s Behavioral Health Care Portal. State agencies are working together to raise awareness and connect residents with confidential, 24/7 support by phone, text, or online. The BEACON portal offers families a centralized way to find services and support for children’s behavioral health needs across multiple state agencies.
