SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois House of Representatives has passed legislation that would collect and reveal data on contraband found in the state’s prison facilities. The proposal would require the Illinois Department of Corrections to document the contraband and a possible method of entry into the facility. Sponsors said the measure would provide transparency regarding emergency medical responses and drug overdoses.
