CHICAGO – Illinois ranks among the top five most dangerous states for transportation and warehouse workers, according to an analysis by Andrew S. Kryder of The Kryder Law Group using data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Between 2014 and 2023, Illinois reported an average of 11,850 injuries and illnesses, placing fourth nationally behind California, Texas, and Pennsylvania. The state also ranked fifth in fatal injuries, averaging 34.3 deaths over the same period.
