Illinois Adopts First Statewide Numeracy Plan

SPRINGFIELD — The Illinois State Board of Education has adopted its first Illinois Comprehensive Numeracy Plan, a statewide framework designed to improve math instruction and student achievement. The plan provides research based guidance for schools and districts while maintaining local control over curriculum decisions. State officials said the plan is intended to help students strengthen their math skills and give educators additional tools to support learning in the classroom.
