Identities Released in Polo Murder-Suicide Investigation
POLO — Authorities have released the names of two men found dead following a reported shooting and standoff on June 14 in the 500 block of West Mason Street in Polo. Police say 19-year-old Joshua M. Conway of rural Polo held at least one woman at gunpoint before she and others escaped the home. Responding officers later found Conway and 29-year-old Michael C. Gul of Wauconda dead on the third floor, both from gunshot wounds. Conway’s death is believed to be self-inflicted. A related search was conducted June 15 at another property linked to Conway. Autopsies were performed June 16, and the investigation is ongoing.
