CHICAGO — The Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority announced two Restore Reinvest and Renew grant opportunities totaling fifty million dollars for historically underserved communities. The funding includes thirty five million dollars for reentry economic development and legal aid programs and fifteen million dollars for youth development and violence prevention. The grants are funded through adult use cannabis tax revenue and were appropriated in the fiscal year 2026 state budget. More than nine hundred areas across Illinois are eligible. Applications are available at r3.illinois.gov and are due March 6 2026.
