SYCAMORE — Hy-Vee in Sycamore will host the Flag Day Car Show on Saturday from 9 AM to 3 PM at 2700 DeKalb Ave., featuring up to 80 classic cars, food trucks, vendors, and military displays to celebrate veterans and the U.S. flag. The event will include a large flag display from a crane, a WWII-era plane flyover, a live radio broadcast from 102.3 The Coyote, and a national anthem performance by Mike Tritle.
Gus Guevara with Hy-Vee said that the car show will feature plenty of local rides.
“ We’ve been lucky to team up with the DeKalb car club, and they’re helping us,” he said. “They have credibility in the scene, more people to bring their cars in and show ’em off. So that’s pretty awesome.”
Veteran groups and military recruiters will be on site, and the DeKalb County Cruizers Car Club will help present car show awards at 2 PM. Proceeds will support veteran causes, and patriotic merchandise, barbecue food, and Hy-Vee deals will be available throughout the day.
