SYCAMORE – The DeKalb County History Center will offer a class Sept. 19 for people interested in learning more about the history of their homes and properties. Property Research 101 will be held from noon to 1 p.m. at the History Center, 1730 N. Main St. The class will be led by Joiner History Room Archival and Collection Specialist Rob Glover and volunteer Russ Johnson. Participants will learn how to research DeKalb County properties using online resources as well as records available in the History Center archives, including maps, city directories, abstracts, documents and copy books. The class will cost $5 per person, with handouts provided. Space is limited to 20 people, and registration is required.
