Governor Pritzker Signs Law to Improve Drinking Water Quality in Illinois


SPRINGFIELD – Governor J.B. Pritzker has signed into law a bill that aims to enhance the quality of drinking water in Illinois. The law will require the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency to conduct tests of community water supplies to assess the levels of foreign chemicals. The measure also calls on the EPA to annually review chemicals that could pose health hazards. The law goes into effect January 1st.
